I-Port Support Services' mission is to provide critical e-Business Solutions to the Small Medium Enterprise (SME) market. Through private sector and government projects, IPSS staff have developed expertise related to business consulting, managing projects, outcome evaluation, and staff deployment. A focus of IPSS is to provide enterprise-level infrastructure for web services tools for the SME market – specifically, secure online browsing and collaboration tools. IPSS personnel has participated in implementing configurations and operating procedures based on IBM’s worldwide experience in the installation, operation and maintenance of Storage Area Network systems. The skills transfer from IBM to IPSS staff in the installation and operation enterprise solutions has brought significant technical expertise to our organization.
Here are just a few current and past projects:
Florida Virtual School (FLVS): This is Florida’s first Internet-based, public high school - complete with on-line curriculum of more than 90 courses—everything from GED to honors to 10 Advanced Placement courses. IPSS provides 1st level technical support to over 1300 FLVS staff and a student population of approximately 60,000. IPSS also provides content support to maintain course curriculum and curriculum development support assisting with curriculum enhancement and quality assurance projects.
New Jersey Virtual School (NJVS): New Jersey Virtual school is offered by MOESC and offers a summer school program for middle and high school students. IPSS provides seasonal 1st level technical support to instructors and students for make-up and comprehensive courses.
Strait-Highland Regional Development Agency (S-HRDA): S-HRDA is one of thirteen Regional Development Authorities throughout the Province of Nova Scotia each charged by the province to coordinate and facilitate economic development at the local level. IPSS provides the S-HRDA with Lotus Domino & Notes services, hosting and managing their email, website, and databases.
Cape Breton Connectivity Alliance: As a joint venture the Atlantic Learning Innovations Network, I-Port staff participated in the Industry Canada BRAND project to implement the Cape Breton Connectivity Alliance business plan, providing broadband connectivity to designate communities in Inverness and Richmond Counties (surrounding the Bras d'Or Lake).
Campus Canada Limited: As a joint venture the Atlantic Learning Innovations Network, I-Port Inc provided Web services to support the Record of Learning (RoL) and to conduct research and planning activity related to solutions for implementing a fully automated RoL.
Membertou Data Center: I-Port Inc was engaged as the lead project developer for the launch of the Data Center, located in Membertou, Nova Scotia. I-Port provided Project Management and Engineering Design services in partnership with Thor Solutions and Storageples Inc. The key deliverables were an Infrastructure Plan, Networking Plan, Operational Plan, and Implemetation Plan.
